FirstLight Home Care of South Bay Reviews
Grateful to FirstLight, Larry Roberts, and team for providing care for my grandmother over the last years. My grandmother wants to be at home for as long as possible and with FirstLight's help, we could recently celebrate her 97th birthday while she still lived at home. They are always available for random phone calls regarding: needing scheduled help, needing last minute help when a family friend was unable to come as planned, when my grandmother was feeling sick and didn't need scheduled help, when my grandmother was sick and we needed help unplanned, and once when she had a surprise doctor appointment they coordinated a caregiver to and from the appointment to resolve (let me just say Larry is a hands-on owner). Additionally, while we never used it, they were willing to help with her long-term care insurance filing as well. Another way to show they go the distance to help with any needs.I sincerely recommend FirstLIght, Larry, and his caring staff for any home health care needs.
June 02 · Debbie MoranteWe have been clients of FirstLight Home Care for over three years and are so grateful to Larry Roberts and his staff. We have a son that is a quadriplegic and as such needs 24/7 care giving assistance. FirstLight Home Care has provided much of those services and many times on short notice has helped us out by filling in with their staff. I would recommend them highly.Alan & Tina Virgil
September 08 · Gary VirgilLarry and his team are wonderful. They helped a neighbor when he came home from the hospital after surgery. They also offer help to new moms with household chores. If you have a loved one in need of in home care, give Larry a call.
April 28 · pamela punzalanUNPROFESSIONAL. Please, if you are thinking of working here, run!If I could give no star I would. They do not have the best interest at heart when it comes to their clients. Treats their employees unfairly, tries to use them for their own personal gain, and does not even pay them.Salvador was extremely rude showed up to the interview almost an hour late while I was there on time and with all my documents. He constantly used profanity and Larry was no help at all. All they do is hang up the phone on people and waste your time. They never reached out to resolve any of the issues that THEY caused and this “apology” at the bottom is not at all genuine, they just know this comment is public.I resigned as soon as I could because it was a mess. I was asked to pay out of my own pocket for an expense that was the COMPANY’s responsibility with no clarity if I was going to get reimbursed. Lied about it that the client was supposed to reimburse me? Which the client informed me was not true. Also, I was sent out into the field without the proper training. Communication was terrible. While I was on the phone resigning, there was no explanation that if I was going to get paid for those 2 days I did work. I never asked to be paid immediately, I just wanted to know if I was going to and when. On their end however, they easily got an attitude and were trying to get me off the phone and avoid the conversation altogether, because God forbid an employee tries to inquire if they will get paid for their work. Which by the way, it is illegal to not pay your employees.Additionally, office staff sent an invalid check to my email with my incorrect home address and spelling on it. This was done intentionally to further delay payment.Instead of fixing the issue with me directly, you know like a phone call, I have to write a Google review for them to actually do something…so unprofessional and immature.TERRIBLE experience.Would not ever recommend this place to any of my family or friends!!FirstLight, It DOES NOT need to escalate to this point for your employees to get answers and resolutions to their concerns. Especially if it’s your company who initiates these problems and issues in the first place. Treat your employees and clients better.
