In the months that we were with Everett home Health, there were many good things however, everything good was eviscerated in the end because of one Nurse. It seems that this nurse had a monopoly with most of the patients. Unfortunately for us, the nurse was not a good nurse, she was extremely moody, she suggested that my mother be put on palliative care what she basically thought was hospice when it was none of her business, her insecurities would all of a sudden show up and she would start “freaking out“ that there was “too much going on here“ and she wanted nothing to do with it so she coerced me into taking my mother to the emergency room, there was nothing wrong with my mother outside of what we were treating at home and if the physicians at the hospital felt that my mother necessitated More care than a home Health could provide they would not have released my mother in the first place into Everett home Health care, but this nurse was all over the place in not only her assessments of a wound, but also her basic overall care, lacking Basic empathy for the patient and their family, but also was so entrenched in her insecurities that we never knew what was going to happen next. The nurse could not even do a simple clean catch catheter without having to have several people Assist her, this is basic nursing, and the nurse wanted people from our home to assist her for a clean catch catheter which obviously she was not confident that she could perform. The ridiculousness of all of this from one Nurse is a comedy of errors and the joke was on us. Unfortunately, the owner played into this because this particular nurse highly coercive.Based on the problems, this home Health does not have adequate nursing and nursing is the foundation for home Health, I would definitely say do not use them, I think these problems are visceral within Everett home Health and that they will take more than a while to correct them because as bad as they were for patients to have the experience that we had… well, I don’t see it changing anytime soon. - Ms K

Services Offered

As a Medicare-certified home health agency, Everett Home Health furnishes six primary categories of skilled home health care, all of which are tailored to the patient’s specific needs and prescribed by a licensed physician. These services are crucial for recovery and for managing complex health needs at home.

  • Nursing Care Services: This includes professional services such as skilled assessment, medication administration and monitoring, wound management, chronic disease monitoring, and patient and caregiver education. Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) provide this essential, physician-ordered care.
  • Physical Therapy Services: Therapists work to address mobility issues, which can include gait training, muscle strengthening exercises, balance improvement, and fall-prevention programs to help patients safely move around their home and community.
  • Occupational Therapy Services: This discipline focuses on helping patients improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs). This might involve training for tasks like dressing, bathing, meal preparation, and safely managing household chores, ultimately promoting greater self-sufficiency.
  • Speech Pathology Services: Also known as Speech-Language Pathology, these services evaluate and treat disorders related to speech, language, communication, and swallowing (dysphagia), which are common issues following certain illnesses or injuries.
  • Medical Social Services: Licensed social workers assist patients and their families with the non-medical challenges of illness or recovery. This can involve counseling, crisis intervention, planning for long-term care, navigating complex insurance questions, and connecting families with necessary community resources and financial assistance programs.
  • Home Health Aide Services: These services provide hands-on, personal care assistance for activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Aides provide intermittent care and must be provided concurrently with one of the other skilled services (nursing or therapy).

Choosing a home health provider in the Burbank area requires careful consideration, as the service is intimately connected to a patient's most personal space and crucial recovery phase. What makes a provider like Everett Home Health worth considering is its full scope of Medicare-certified services offered directly in the home. The agency's commitment to core skilled disciplines—Nursing, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies—ensures that patients receive comprehensive medical and rehabilitative support without the stress of travel. The favorable performance in key patient outcomes, such as high rates of improvement in self-care activities and strong discharge education metrics, suggests an organizational focus on measurable results and successful patient transitions. However, as is common in service-based industries, it is important for potential clients to balance general performance data with individual feedback and specific needs. Consumers in California should always conduct personal diligence, interview prospective providers, and communicate clearly with their referring physician to ensure the selected agency is the right fit for their unique medical requirements and personal preferences.
