Choosing a home health care provider in the competitive California market is a decision that requires careful consideration, especially given the sensitive nature of in-home care. American Homecare Health Services presents itself as a highly qualified agency, backed by major industry credentials, which is a significant factor for reassurance. Their Joint Commission accreditation and Medicare/Medi-Cal certification are crucial indicators that the agency operates under strict clinical and organizational standards. Furthermore, their extensive network acceptance, including major HMOs and PPOs popular across Southern California, simplifies the process of receiving covered care for many residents.
The breadth of skilled services offered is also a compelling reason to choose AHHS. They provide everything from sophisticated IV therapies under skilled nursing supervision to a complete range of rehabilitation services (PT, OT, ST) essential for a full recovery. This comprehensive, coordinated approach, where patients receive physical rehabilitation alongside medication management and personal care assistance, is highly beneficial for complex cases and ensures continuity of care. The stated ability to commence services within 24 hours is a practical highlight that directly benefits patients transitioning out of hospital settings, reducing the risk of complications during this vulnerable period.
However, potential users must also be aware of the expressed concerns from recent customer reviews, which describe issues with customer service, communication, and a perceived lack of empathy from some staff. While the agency’s official mission speaks to providing "compassionate care" and prioritizing "dignity, respect, and independence," the published customer feedback suggests that the execution of this mission is inconsistent, particularly in administrative and follow-up communication. In the healthcare sector, patient advocacy and clear communication are non-negotiable elements of quality service. Therefore, while American Homecare Health Services holds the professional accreditations and service depth necessary for excellent care, prospective clients in California are advised to act as their own advocate, clearly communicate their expectations, and closely monitor the coordination and follow-up from the administrative staff and field nurses to ensure their experience aligns with the high standards set by the agency's credentials and stated mission. Making an informed choice involves weighing the strong clinical foundation and broad network coverage against the reported challenges in patient experience and communication.

company
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Terrible company. Have no customer service. Managers are so rude, wont solve issues and direct you to go the hospital not caring how much that be for you. I had a nightmare month with them and then because I called to complain & elevate my concerns they dropped me.Be your own advocate, they want you to sit at home under their mercy not caring if you have infections or issues. They don’t care one bit. Do yourself a favor and use some one else.Horrible company
April 24 · maribel garciaThis company lacks basic customer service skills of communication and follow up. Had to make multiple calls to get status updates. Home Health nurse does not do any real assessment and does not show any caring, empathy or compassion to patient or the family. Sad representation of the company. Better to look else where, I would not recommend them.
