East West Home Health Introduce
For residents in California, especially those in the Los Angeles and surrounding counties, finding reliable, professional, and compassionate home health care services is a top priority when managing recovery from an illness, injury, or a chronic health condition. East West Home Health, situated in Artesia, CA, positions itself as a local provider committed to bringing skilled and specialized medical services directly to the comfort and familiarity of your own home. This approach to care allows patients to maintain independence and focus on recovery in their preferred environment.
The philosophy of care at East West Home Health emphasizes a holistic and customized approach to patient wellness. The core belief is that optimal recovery is achieved by looking beyond just the medical needs. Their integrated wellness planning considers five key factors: Nutritional, Emotional/Social, Safety, Physical, and Mental well-being. By integrating these elements, the goal is to create a comprehensive plan of care tailored to each patient's unique circumstances, promoting the most favorable health outcomes right where they live. The agency's commitment is to work collaboratively with a patient's entire healthcare network, including their physician, hospital, rehabilitation center, or assisted living facility, to ensure a seamless and high level of coordinated care.
Home health care is typically distinct from non-medical home care. As a home health care service, East West Home Health focuses on providing skilled care that is often covered by Medicare and other insurances when ordered by a physician for patients who are considered homebound. These are professional medical services delivered at home to help manage an illness, facilitate recovery, and prevent unnecessary hospital visits. This level of skilled, in-home medical support is crucial for many Californians seeking continuity of care after a hospital stay or for those managing complex long-term conditions.

East West Home Health provides a comprehensive suite of skilled medical and therapeutic services, delivered by a team of trained professionals including Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Medical Social Workers. These services are the foundation of their in-home recovery and chronic disease management programs.
The core services available to patients typically include:
- Skilled Nursing Care: Provided by Registered Nurses (RNs) who are proficient in services such as injections, IV therapy, orthopedic care, cardiac care, wound care and dressing changes, ostomy care, catheter care and drain management, managing medications for compliance, blood draws for lab work, pain management, and extensive patient and family education on disease process, medication regimen, diet, and nutrition. They also offer specialized programs for managing chronic conditions like Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and Diabetes.
- Physical Therapy: Therapists work with patients to restore mobility, build strength, relieve pain after an injury or surgery, and improve balance to reduce fall risks. Treatment involves personalized exercises and instruction on the safe use of mobility equipment like walkers and canes.
- Occupational Therapy: Focused on helping patients regain independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and preparing meals. Therapists assist in restoring lost function, improving cognitive skills, and teaching techniques for energy conservation and home safety modifications.
- Speech Therapy: Provided by speech-language pathologists who assist patients with communication problems, swallowing difficulties, and cognitive disorders that may arise following a stroke or surgery.
- Medical Social Worker Services: Professionals provide essential counseling and psychosocial support. They help families and patients adjust to the impact of illness, perform assessments for social, emotional, and financial concerns, and connect patients with valuable community resources.
- Private-Duty Home Care/Home Health Aide: Although the emphasis is on skilled care, support is also provided for personal care and assistance with ADLs, often under the supervision of a registered nurse. This can include help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and providing companionship.
- Case Management: Registered nurses oversee the entire care plan, coordinating services and monitoring the patient's medical state at home, which may include monitoring vital signs and other health parameters.
- Medical Monitoring: The agency can facilitate the use of medical monitoring systems, such as a Home Help Button, which provides a connection to a 24-hour medical monitoring and command center for prompt assistance in an emergency.
In addition to these core disciplines, East West Home Health offers specialized programs tailored to specific complex diagnoses, including:
- Heart and Lung Disease (CHF, COPD)
- Diabetes management
- Care for Orthopedic Surgeries and recovery
- Neurologic Disorders, including Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, MS, ALS, and Strokes
- Cancer care and recovery support

Choosing a home health provider is a critical decision for any Californian family or patient. East West Home Health’s commitment to a full spectrum of skilled nursing and therapy services under one umbrella provides significant value. The key differentiator is their deeply rooted emphasis on holistic, personalized care—recognizing that recovery is influenced by a patient’s emotional state, social support, and home environment safety, not just their physical symptoms. The specialized disease management programs are also a major benefit, offering focused and expert care for some of the most common and challenging chronic conditions in the senior population. Their team is dedicated to empowering patients through education, which is crucial for long-term health management and preventing future complications or readmissions to the hospital.
However, potential clients should also consider the administrative and service feedback from past patients. While one customer specifically praises the professional and experienced staff, noting that physical therapists provided personalized exercises and that the scheduling was flexible and accommodating, other feedback raises significant concerns. One review explicitly advises caution, citing "extremely hard" work with the company, disorganization, poor customer service, and an issue with a forgotten or ignored referral tied to a billing dispute over a small copay. The reviewer mentioned that the owner allegedly refused to work with them until a past bill was paid, despite the family claiming they never received an invoice. This contrast in reviews—highlighting both exemplary professional clinical care and significant administrative/communication challenges—indicates that prospective clients should conduct a thorough due diligence, perhaps discussing referral coordination and billing practices directly with the agency during the initial consultation to ensure a smooth administrative experience alongside the highly valued clinical expertise. The positive feedback highlights the clinical impact, such as a mother receiving personalized exercises to ease pain, while the negative feedback points to potential hurdles in the patient-agency relationship regarding administration and communication. Ultimately, East West Home Health offers comprehensive skilled home health services, making it a strong option for clinical needs, but prospective clients are well-advised to proactively clarify all logistical and financial procedures upfront.

East West Home Health Reviews
If you can go with another home health care taker, please do so. Working with them is extremely hard and on top of that they are liars. My father just got home from another foot surgery and his surgeon and wound care center sent East West the referral to get him physical therapy. After 2 weeks, we did not hear back from them and upon calling, they told me they have no record of this referral. I call the wound care center and they stated they sent the referral twice already. Upon calling East West back, the owner (korean fella) told me that he doesn't actually want to work with us because my mother hasn't paid the measly $3 copay per visit we had from them before...he stated that my mother denied to pay it. So I asked my mother about this and she stated that she never denied paying and has told them to send us a invoice so we can pay it, but never received it. If we received the invoice, payment would never be an issue! All in all....they have terrible customer service, you'll be stressed out working with them as they are not organized and lie to their customers/patients. AVOID IF YOU CAN!Read the yelp reviews....they are all very similar for a reason!
