Cambrian Homecare Introduce
Choosing in-home care for yourself or a loved one in California can be a significant decision, and finding a reliable and comprehensive provider is essential. Cambrian Homecare, with a primary presence in Long Beach, California, stands as a well-established home health care service dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages—including seniors, children, and adults with disabilities—to live independently and comfortably in their own homes. Since its inception in Long Beach in 1996, the company has diversified its offerings, moving beyond initial non-medical options to provide a wide range of services designed to meet varied community needs across Southern California counties.
Cambrian Homecare operates as an employer agency, meaning their caregivers are employees of Cambrian, not independent contractors. This structure is intended to ensure they handle critical aspects such as payment, wage reporting, tax withholdings, and Workers' Compensation Insurance, which adds a layer of professionalism and accountability to the service provision. The business prides itself on providing customized, flexible non-medical homecare seven days a week, with the goal of helping clients maintain independence in their environment of choice. The founder, an experienced Registered Nurse, established the company with extensive experience in the home health and homecare business, bringing a clinically informed perspective to the non-medical services provided. It is also noteworthy that Cambrian Homecare identifies as a women-owned business.
A crucial element of their philosophy, known as the “Cambrian Way,” focuses on supporting the 'human evolution' we all experience, providing assistance during different life stages, and emphasizing the importance of Prevention and Early Intervention in care. They serve as an actively engaged partner to hospitals, insurance companies, and referring agencies across the region.
The main office for Cambrian Homecare in Long Beach is centrally located, providing a base for their services which extend across multiple Southern California counties. For those needing to visit the administrative location, the details are as follows:

- The business is committed to accessibility, offering a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible parking lot at its primary location.
- It is important to note that home care services are delivered directly in the client's home, offering comfort and convenience throughout the wider service area.

Several distinct features and operational highlights distinguish Cambrian Homecare in the Southern California home care market. These elements are designed to enhance the quality of care and ease of service for California families.
- Non-Medical and Skilled Care Integration: While historically focusing on non-medical care, their designation as a Home Health Agency and the mention of Registered Nurse and Clinical Social Worker services suggest an ability to coordinate or provide both non-medical (custodial) and certain skilled care components, offering a more comprehensive solution than purely non-medical agencies.
- Extensive Training and Skills Lab: They operate a 'Cambrian Skills Lab' to ensure caregiver proficiency, meaning their employee-caregivers receive targeted training beyond basic requirements to manage specific conditions like Alzheimer's or Parkinson's.

For California families navigating the complexities of in-home care, Cambrian Homecare offers several compelling reasons for consideration, rooted in their long-standing experience and structure. Their more than 20 years of dedication to serving the community speaks to their stability and deep local knowledge in the Southern California region. The fact that the company functions as an employer agency, handling the employment administration for its caregivers, may offer peace of mind to clients who do not want the burden of managing taxes, payroll, and insurance for a private hire.
The breadth of services is also a significant advantage. From simple light housekeeping and meal preparation to complex, specialized care for conditions like Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and ALS, Cambrian Homecare aims to cover a broad spectrum of in-home support needs. Their programs for Veteran Assistance and Respite Care for the developmentally disabled further highlight their commitment to niche, high-need segments of the population. The founder's background as an RN suggests a service that is managed with an understanding of clinical best practices, even in a non-medical setting.
However, potential clients should also approach their decision with a thorough understanding of the service delivery experience, as is prudent with any care provider. While the agency boasts features like a 'Caregiver Match Guarantee' and reports of compassionate and wonderful caregivers from some clients, reviews also reflect inconsistent service reliability, including late arrivals and last-minute cancellations. One client noted a significant disparity in the training and work ethic of different staff members throughout the week, leading to frustration. This inconsistency suggests that while the service has the capacity for excellent care, as highlighted by positive reports, new clients should proactively communicate their scheduling needs and expectations clearly with the staffing coordinator and case manager to ensure a consistently high standard of dependable care. The availability of a free in-home assessment/in-office consultation and 24-hour customer support provides opportunities for families to assess the compatibility and responsiveness of the agency before committing to long-term care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m extremely disappointed with Cambrian Home Care. We hired them to help support my elderly mother twice a week with light tasks—bathing, vacuuming, and a few household needs. What we got was constant frustration. Caregivers would show up late, cancel last minute, or not show up at all. Communication and customer service were just as unreliable. The final straw? The last caregiver showed up 20 minutes late, listened to my wife’s simple instructions, said she needed to grab something from her car… and just never came back. Completely unprofessional and frankly unacceptable. We immediately canceled the service. I would not recommend Cambrian to anyone looking for dependable home care for a loved one.
June 03 · Chad CerettoI booked Cambrian Home Care about a month before services needed. I requested the assigned caregiver to be qualified for the routine care. Monday they sent Francisca which was awesome. The rest of the week we got lesser trained and hardworking staff.
June 08 · LupEOI'm lost for words about this company. I have a complex 3-year-old child that just needed someone to do a couple hours so I can get a break and I could not get one worker to stay consistent with my daughter. She had almost 5 workers, Come to my home and none of them had good reason why they could not stay.horrible company don't recommend them. not to mention I'm from regional center. They've lied and said. I was a reason why they didn't have no work or no.
August 15 · Nita williamsWe've had these services approved for our daughter that is special needs, 5 x a week for 6 hours a day. Out of the 5 days, we're lucky to see them at our home 1 x a week. They don't show up for the scheduled day, they call off minutes before they're arrival time, If they even call to let us know they won't be coming. They have used every excuse possible when the do not show up. We've had close to 10 different caregivers in the 3 months that we have been using them. They are very unprofessional, non-compliant, bill for days that they're not even working (Cambria calls me to verify certain dates and hours billed, which are not accurate). They do not know how to care for a disabled adult, we spend more time training them, than the time they stick around. We are promised caregivers, then one day to another they don't have anyone. Both my husband and myself work, we' have had to cancel meetings scheduled due to no caregiver showing up. This is the worst caregiver company that we have ever encountered. UNreliable, UNprofessional, UNcarging, Unorganized won't take responsibility for their staff and expect that a sorry is enough to cover lost meetings, lost time training, etc. etc. If you can, avoid these people...This company should be looked upon from the City that gave them permission to run and keep an active license. They are of NO help to us, it's more stress that we get, rather than help us!!! We did have 2 ladies that were very nice, but Cambria has them running around doing different schedules and clients, so we have not seen them since they last worked for us. We are told that they have other clients, but will find us permanent caregivers of which we hear of everyday and still nothing...Broken & Empty promises !! BTW, the ratings of 2 stars and above are employees or family members of Cambria LOL
June 24 · VIRGINIA PEREZMy caregiver: Imelda is always consistent in arriving on Friday at 12:00, and always does a thorough Job when she’s here!I so appreciate her consistency and I can depend on her! It’s so reassuring & helps my healing!Thank You!! For your service!
