They strive to be a supportive partner, not just a service provider, in their clients' healthcare journeys.

What is Worth Choosing
Choosing the right home health or hospice provider is a deeply personal and critical decision for individuals and families in the California area. Universal Home Care, Inc. is a choice worth considering for several compelling reasons that align with the needs of the local user base.
First, the agency’s longevity and scale—in business since 1996 with over 50,000 clients served—demonstrate a robust operational foundation and a deep commitment to the community. This experience is vital for navigating the complexities of home-based medical care. Furthermore, their accreditation as a Medicare and Medi-Cal certified provider simplifies the process for many California families seeking covered services.
Second, the commitment to an interdisciplinary, holistic approach is a significant advantage. The hospice program, for example, is not merely clinical; it addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of the patient and the family. The provision of bereavement services for a full year after a patient's passing illustrates a dedication to comprehensive family support that goes beyond the patient's immediate medical needs.
Third, the agency’s focus on cultural competence, with a staff fluent in numerous languages, ensures that effective, respectful, and clear communication is maintained, which is essential for proper care and patient adherence to treatment plans in California's multicultural environment.
While the available customer reviews suggest that patient experiences, particularly with different therapists, can vary in quality—highlighting some exceptional nursing care but expressing concerns over the performance of some geriatric physical therapists—the organization’s dedication to providing a full spectrum of care, from skilled nursing to social support, remains clear. They openly accept Medicare and are explicitly aware of federal guidelines, like the Jimmo v. Sebelius ruling concerning maintenance therapy, which is important information for consumers to know as they advocate for their loved ones' services.
Ultimately, the 24/7 on-call availability, the breadth of services (Home Health, Hospice, Aged Care, and ALW participation), and the compassionate mission of this established, women-owned business make Universal Home Care, Inc. a strong and comprehensive option for those seeking in-home medical and supportive care in the greater Los Angeles region of California. It is recommended that prospective clients clearly discuss their specific therapy and care needs with the agency's leadership to ensure the best possible professional match for their situation.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The therapists I worked with were well prepared. They gave me printed instructions. Worked with me to make certain I had mastered them. They took all of my vitals. They advised me on how to continue on with exercises. They discussed my feelings about the operation and my moods. They helped me deal with my post-operative situation.
May 23 · Romey KeysMy rating goes as follows, five stars for the nurses -4 stars for the geriatric physical therapists.First physical therapist was an older very small woman by the name of Jila. Jila is way too old to be an effective physical therapist in my opinion she could not ambulate my mom! She performed zero physical therapy on my mother, and after the third visit where she was sort of all over the place and very hyper active, she let us know that she was only here for caregiver training and she was training us and things that we already knew but failed to ask us if we were already aware of what she was trying to teach us.Second physical therapist was also a geriatric physical therapist by the name of George. He came to evaluate my mother and never touched her, basically denied services without even trying range of motion! Unbelievable! He came in a dirty track suit with his lunch all over his shirt. He was rude and non attentive to the patient.Under Jimmo vs.CMS a Lawsuit filed on behalf of patients with chronic conditions that will not get better Medicare will pay for physical therapy to alleviate pain and for persons that are afflicted with diseases such as Parkinson’s disease or other diseases the cause contracture or into for limbs that benefit from movement from physical therapy. It is the law under federal guidelines for Medicare yet home health companies like universal act like they won’t get paid and use Medicare services not paying them for anything other than caregiver training, as an excuse for their shotty physical therapist. So if you want geriatric physical therapist which I don’t recommend - use this Home Health but beware you won’t get physical therapy from anyone under the age of 75
September 11 · Ms KI received outstanding care from the nurses at Universal Home Care. I was recovering from abdominal surgery, and a nurse came daily to change my dressings. The nurses came when they said they would and did what they were supposed to do in a gentle and careful manner. Beyond that they were just the nicest people and a pleasure to have in my home.
March 10 · Celia GerryI had an excellent experience with UHC post-op knee replacement surgery. Both George Steinbach, PT and Leslie Feldman, RN provided a level of tender loving care and expertise that clearly exceeded my expectations.
January 16 · Marc BergerPhysical therapist Eric was great, he helped me a lot in 3 weeks after hip replacement.
